Free Printable Halloween Gift Tags for Treat Bags and Gifts

Halloween is just around the corner, so I made a batch of goodie bags for a few neighbors and paired them with some cute Halloween gift tags. They add an instant festive touch and make simple treats feel special.

I’ve created three different tag designs—my favorite is the little Frankenstein with his crooked smile. The set is available as a free printable, so you can print and use them at home for a quick, polished presentation.

I filled clear plastic goodie bags with cookies and tied a tag on with curling ribbon. These tags work well on all kinds of treats. Use homemade cookies, a handful of Halloween candy, or small baked goods. They’re also perfect for teacher treats, neighbor gifts, or party favors.

Ideas for using the printable tags:

  • Attach to clear goodie bags with ribbon or twine for a simple take-home favor.
  • Tape the tags to sucker sticks or long toothpicks and use them as cupcake or treat toppers.
  • Print on sticker paper to make quick, peel-and-stick labels for candies and party boxes.
  • Trim the tags with decorative-edge scissors for a handcrafted look, or punch a hole and add a small charm or bell.

For printing, choose a good-quality cardstock (around 110–130 lb / 200–350 gsm) if you want sturdier tags; standard printer paper works if you only need temporary decorations or stickers. Use a high-resolution color setting on your printer to keep the illustrations bright and clear. If you prefer professional results, a local print shop can print and cut the tags for you.

These tags are versatile and take just a few minutes to prepare. I filled my bags with simple snickerdoodle-style cookies, but you could substitute cupcakes, pretzels, popcorn, or individually wrapped candies. For a themed party, coordinate the tag colors with your wrapping, ribbons, or table decor to make everything cohesive.

If you’re gifting to multiple people and want to personalize each tag, write recipient names on the back with a fine-tip marker or add a small label with a short note. You can also leave space on the tags to record ingredients or an allergen note—handy for classroom treats.
